Sunmi Kimchi is named after Hyeonju's late mother, Sunmi Kim, who passed away from cancer when Hyeonju was four years old.

Every jar carries her name. Every recipe traces back to a grandmother's kitchen. What started with an airport delay and a complaint about store-bought kimchi became something much more — a way to keep a memory alive, and share it with a community that feels like home.

Hyeonju and Ryan make every batch by hand, in small quantities, with no shortcuts. That's not a marketing line. It's just how it's done.
